This week, I'm happy to share that five of my bills passed both chambers. I also met with students and staff from Virginia Union  University and Hampton University, both of which show a strong commitment to excellence. In addition, I presented a memorial resolution to honor Mr. Bob Eddison Bracey, whose impact is still felt today.

I’m also proud to support key investments in stormwater infrastructure, Richmond’s water crisis response, and mental health crisis programs.

We’ve reached the halfway point of the 2025 legislative session! I'm excited to share that HB 1660 has passed the House, along with my budget amendment, Item 111 #1h, supporting the Metropolitan Business League's Capital Access Program. I'm looking forward to seeing these bills move through the Senate and continuing our work for shared priorities.

Great news! Four of my bills (HB 1661, HB 1663, HB 1665, and HB 1667) have passed the House and are now in the Senate. HB 1664 was incorporated into HB 2041 to advance road safety. I also met with advocacy groups to discuss key issues and look forward to continuing this work—stay tuned for updates!

In this edition, I proudly cast my vote in favor of three pivotal constitutional amendments aimed at enhancing the rights of Virginians: HJ1, HJ9, and HJ2. Additionally, I introduced two significant bills, HB1663 and HB1670, to further our commitment to progress and equity in the Commonwealth.

Last week was full of community highlights! I hosted a Mufasa screening for Richmond and Chesterfield families, honored Mayor Levar Stoney at his Farewell Address, and wrapped up with a great meal at Abuelita’s with Nora Eats Good, supporting local businesses.

This week, Delegate Jones participated in several events, including two canvass launches hosted by Congresswoman McClellan in support of Kamala Harris and a roundtable discussion on voting rights. We had an incredible turnout last night for our Community Fish Fry at National Night Out!
